A former palace of Count Oldenburg on Kargareteli Street now houses the Art Palace of Georgia – Museum of Cultural History (საქართველოს ხელოვნების სასახლე – კულტურის ისტორიის მუზეუმი), a museum devoted to the cultural history of Georgia.
David Arsenishvili founded the museum in 1927. Until April 2020 it was the Georgian State Museum of Theatre, Music, Cinema and Choreography, a name that reflects the performing arts and film at the heart of its subject. A resolution of the Government of Georgia gave it its current name, and it is often called simply the Art Palace.
