At Mooseum, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our museum wayfinding and voice guidance web application.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, such as your name, email address, and museum details when you sign up for our service. We also collect usage data, including how you interact with our application, to improve our services and user experience.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, as well as to communicate with you about your account and updates to our platform. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

When you create an account we send you one welcome email about using Mooseum. Sign-in and password emails are sent when you ask for them. Everything else is optional, and we only send it if you choose it:

Letters from Moosey: a monthly letter with a museum story, museums to know about, an audio tour and Mooseum news.
Your museum passport: a recap after a month in which you stamped or saved museums, and a few tips when you start your passport.
Near you: new museums, audio tours and maps within about 50 km of your home city, at most every two weeks.

You can choose them when you sign up (Letters from Moosey only), on the welcome page or in the email settings on your profile. Nothing is chosen for you. We send at most one of these emails a week. If you chose one of our earlier email topics (product updates, new museums, tour recommendations, blog and stories), we no longer send them and won't move you to a new one without asking.

Each time you opt in or out we record the choice, when and where you made it, the wording you saw and the version of this policy, so we can show we have your consent. Every optional email has an unsubscribe link that works without signing in, and mail apps that support it show a one-click unsubscribe button. If an email to you bounces permanently or you mark one as spam, we stop emailing that address. We use Resend to deliver emails and to tell us whether they were delivered, opened or clicked.

Museum Waitlist

If you work at a museum and join the waitlist on our “Mooseum for museums” page, we store what you send us: your museum, name, role, work email, and optionally your country, the museum's size, what you're interested in and your message. We also store the wording you agreed to, the date, and a keyed one-way hash of your network address, used only to limit repeated sign-ups (we never store the address itself).

We use these details only to reply to you about Mooseum's tools for museums and the design-partner programme, based on your consent. Only the Mooseum team can see them. When you sign up we notify the team with your museum's name and your role, never your email. You can withdraw consent and ask us to delete your entry at any time by emailing privacy@mooseum.app. We delete waitlist entries we no longer need.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. If you have any questions or concerns about our privacy practices, please contact us at privacy@mooseum.app.

Deleting Your Account

To delete your Mooseum account, email privacy@mooseum.app from the address you sign in with (the “Delete my account” button on your profile opens that email for you). If the request comes from another address, we first ask your sign-in address to confirm, so nobody else can delete your account. We delete your account within 30 days of your request and reply when it's done.

Deleting removes your account and sign-in, your museum passport (stamps, visits, saved museums and achievements), your profile and public profile page, unpublished tours you started in Tour Studio with their audio and photos, your email preferences and the record of emails we sent you, and your usage data in our analytics. Tours you have published stay on Mooseum without your name. We keep your request and our reply as a record that we handled it.
