Until 1992, Heichal Shlomo (Hebrew: היכל שלמה, "Palace of Solomon") was the seat of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. The building on King George Street stands next to the Great Synagogue and is designated a heritage site in Israel.
Today it serves several purposes at once. It houses a synagogue, the Jewish Heritage Center and the Museum of Jewish Art. It is also the Jerusalem campus of Herzog College, which teaches its master's program in education here. Visitors come for the museum of Jewish art and for a building with a central place in the history of Israel's religious institutions.
