The coronation church of the tsars, the tombs of Moscow's grand princes and a royal treasury of crowns, thrones and carriages all sit within the walls of the Kremlin itself, and together they make up the Moscow Kremlin Museums. The museums draw more than three million visitors a year.
The cathedrals of Cathedral Square form the core. The Dormition Cathedral, where Russian rulers were crowned, is covered with frescoes and icons. The Archangel Cathedral holds the tombs of grand princes and tsars, including Ivan the Terrible. The Annunciation Cathedral has an iconostasis with icons associated with Theophanes the Greek and Andrei Rublev. The Patriarch's Palace and the Ivan the Great Bell Tower complex complete the group, and the Tsar Cannon and Tsar Bell stand nearby.
The Armoury Chamber is the main treasury museum. It displays state regalia such as the Cap of Monomakh, along with royal thrones, ceremonial carriages, arms and armour, and imperial Easter eggs by Fabergé.
