Outsider art, the work of self-taught artists outside the established art world, is the sole focus of Musée Visionnaire, a private, non-profit museum in Zurich founded in November 2013. Rather than a permanent display, it works as an art foyer, with changing exhibitions that present contemporary outsider art alongside related art forms.
The museum also hosts special social events on topical subjects that link the art world with current public issues, which suits visitors interested in how art connects to wider debates.
