Renovated former watermills in the centre of Kampa Island house Museum Kampa, a private gallery founded in Prague on 26 February 1999 by Meda Mládková. It was created as the home of the Jan and Meda Mládek Foundation collection, which numbers more than 1,300 works. In 2015 The Guardian ranked it among the five most interesting private museums in Europe.
Beyond the mill buildings, the museum runs a multicultural centre in the Werich villa. The Věra and Vladimír Janoušek Foundation, which manages the Janoušeks' sculpture studio in Prague's Košíře district, has its office here and shares staff with the museum. Since 2022 the museum's collections have also had a permanent exhibition at the castle in Moravský Krumlov. The Prague gallery draws roughly 80,000 visitors a year.
