Four species of otter and ten species of owl, drawn from around the globe, live alongside Britain's native wildlife at the New Forest Wildlife Park. Founded in 1998 and formerly known as The New Forest Otter, Owl and Wildlife Conservation Park, it sits on the edge of the New Forest close to the towns of Ashurst and Lyndhurst in Hampshire.
The park specialises in animals that are native to Britain today and those that once were, alongside its international otters and owls. Behind the scenes, it is recognised as the UK's leading institution for the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wild otters. It also cares for owls, deer and foxes in similar situations.
Conservation runs through its work, including breeding programmes for endangered native species such as Scottish wildcats, water voles and harvest mice. It is a natural stop for anyone keen to see British wildlife and the work done to protect it.
