Owned by a subsidiary of the Malaysian oil and gas conglomerate Petronas, Petrosains is a science and technology museum set within Suria KLCC at the Petronas Twin Towers. Its full name, Petrosains, The Discovery Centre, is also in use.
The museum was the brainchild of Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysia's fourth prime minister, and opened on 25 March 1999. Since 2013 it has been a principal organizer of the annual Petrosains Science Festival. English has always been its main language for daily operations, although most of the programmes held there are conducted in Malay.
