Covering 165 hectares, more than 90 of them developed, the Taipei Zoo is one of the largest zoos in Asia and the best-known zoological garden in Taiwan. This public zoo in Wenshan District is also widely called the Muzha Zoo, after the area where it stands.
Founded in 1914, the zoo is a leader in conservation, research and education as well as recreation.
