Close to a thousand original objects tied to orders of knighthood and merit from all over the world make up the permanent exhibition of the Tallinn Museum of Orders of Knighthood, signed in Estonian as Tallinna Rüütliordude Muuseum. Orders of this kind are formal honours conferred on individuals, and the museum traces their history through the regalia that went with them.
The displays include costumes worn by members of these orders, along with collars, stars, badges and other related items. The oldest exhibits date to the beginning of the 18th century.
This private museum of history and culture was founded in 2016. It occupies a historical medieval building at Kuninga 3 in Tallinn Old Town.
