Named after the publisher and arts patron Amos Anderson, Amos Rex is an independent, privately funded museum devoted to contemporary art. Its programme centres on contemporary art, media art and experimental installations, making it best suited to visitors drawn to new and experimental work.
The museum is in Lasipalatsi, on Mannerheimintie boulevard in Helsinki. It opened in 2018 and quickly gained international attention, drawing more than 10,000 visitors within weeks. It now receives about a quarter of a million visitors a year.
