For more than two decades, from 1931 to 1953, this house in northern Tel Aviv was the family home of David Ben-Gurion, the pre-State Zionist leader who became Israel's first Prime Minister and Defense Minister. Even after those years it remained one of his residences until his death in 1973, alongside his desert home, a hut at Kibbutz Sde Boker in the Negev, and the official prime ministerial residence, Julius Jacobs House in Jerusalem's Rehavia neighbourhood.
The building opened as a historic house museum in 1976 and is recognised as a heritage site in Israel. It stands at 17 Ben-Gurion Boulevard. The house suits visitors interested in Ben-Gurion and in the period before and after the founding of the state.
