Allegorical sgraffito decoration covers the façade of the Cauchie House (Maison Cauchie), an Art Nouveau town house in Brussels. Sgraffito is a technique in which layers of coloured plaster are scratched away to form images. The architect, painter and designer Paul Cauchie designed the house, which was built in 1905.
The house stands at 5 rue des Francs (Frankenstraat) in the municipality of Etterbeek, next to the Parc du Cinquantenaire, and is a protected monument.
