Contemporary metal craft is the specialty of the Chiwoo Craft Museum, a private non-profit art museum in Umyeon-dong, Seocho-gu, also known as the Yoolizzy Craft Museum. It was founded by the craft artist Yoo Lizzy, after whom it is named, and its exhibitions focus on present-day metalwork alongside research into Korean metalwork traditions.
The museum's stated aim is to link the aesthetic qualities of traditional Korean craft with contemporary art. Besides exhibitions, it offers educational programmes and hands-on experiences, and it works to discover and support emerging artists, so visitors can expect to see newer makers as well as established ones. It suits visitors interested in metalwork, Korean craft and contemporary applied art.
The museum opened on 8 October 2004 and was officially registered as an art museum in 2005.
