Named after a short-lived artistic movement active in Sarajevo from 1939 until the start of the Second World War, Collegium Artisticum is a gallery devoted to contemporary art. It opened on 6 April 1975 as the shared gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina's three major art associations: the Association of Artists (ULUBIH), the Association of Applied Arts and Design (ULUPUBIH) and the Association of Architects (AABIH).
Today it operates as a public institution, the City Gallery Collegium Artisticum, and hosts the annual Collegium Artisticum exhibition. Its origins link fine art, applied art and design, and architecture, which makes it most relevant to visitors interested in the contemporary art scene of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
