The Frye Art Museum was founded in 1952 to house the private art collection of Charles and Emma Frye, and that collection remains at its core. Located in Seattle's First Hill neighborhood, the museum has since grown into a museum of modern and contemporary art. Alongside the founders' collection, it presents rotating temporary exhibitions of work by emerging and contemporary artists.
