Switzerland's largest art museum devoted to non-European art and design, the Museum Rietberg displays art from Asia, Africa, the Americas and Oceania. Its collections span both art and ethnography, and it is listed as a Swiss cultural property of national significance.
Founded in 1952, it is the third-largest museum in Zurich and the largest run by the city itself. In 2007 it drew around 157,000 visitors. It suits those interested in the artistic traditions of cultures beyond Europe.
