More than 280 pieces of heavy military equipment, among them tanks, aircraft and missile systems, fill the outdoor exhibition park of Sofia's National Museum of Military History (Национален военноисторически музей). The park covers two and a half hectares and lies a few minutes from the city centre.
Indoors, the collection spans Antiquity to the present day. It includes weapons, uniforms, battle flags, rare documents, awards and unique personal relics.
Founded in 1916, the museum is a national museum devoted entirely to military history.
