Lima's most visited and most influential zoo, the Park of Legends (Parque de las Leyendas) combines animal exhibits with archaeological museums, a botanical garden, and areas for recreation and entertainment. Its formal name honours Dr. Felipe Benavides Barreda.
The park is in San Miguel District and is run by the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima. Since 2023 a second branch with the same name has operated in Ate District, at the site formerly known as the Huachipa Zoo (Zoológico de Huachipa), which the municipality acquired.
