Peru's internal conflict of the 1980s and 1990s is the subject of the Place of Memory, Tolerance and Social Inclusion, known in Spanish as Lugar de la Memoria, la Tolerancia y la Inclusión Social, or LUM. The museum memorializes the victims of the conflict and serves as a forum where different viewpoints on that period can be discussed.
Designed by the architect Sandra Barclay, the LUM opened in Lima in 2015 and is managed by Peru's Ministry of Culture.
