Live native animals share space with interactive nature displays at the Randall Museum, which sits on a large hill in Corona Heights Park between the Castro and Haight-Ashbury districts. Its focus spans science, nature and the arts, and its hilltop setting gives views over the city, the downtown financial district and San Francisco Bay.
Beyond the exhibits, the museum has a theater, a wood shop, and art and ceramics studios. It is owned and operated by the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department with the support of the Randall Friends, and it draws around 90,000 visitors a year.
Josephine Dows Randall founded the museum in 1951, and it bears her name.
