Sigmund Freud's life story is the focus of this museum at Berggasse 19, in Vienna's Alsergrund district. Alongside Freud himself, it covers the history of psychoanalysis, the field he founded.
The museum opened in 1971. Since 2003 it has been run by the Sigmund Freud Foundation, which has received the entire building as an endowment. In 2017 it drew more than a hundred thousand visitors.
