Victor Horta designed the Art Nouveau building that houses the Belgian Centre for Comic Strip Art, originally for the former Magasins Waucquez. Since 1986 it has been a museum devoted to Belgian comics. On signs it appears as the Centre belge de la bande dessinée in French and the Belgisch Stripcentrum in Dutch, and it is also known as the Comic Art Museum, or Musée de la bande dessinée and Stripmuseum.
The museum stands at 20 rue des Sables (Zandstraat) in central Brussels and draws around 200,000 visitors a year.
