Listed as a class A Swiss cultural property of national significance, the Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich (Botanischer Garten der Universität Zürich) opened in 1977 on Zollikerstrasse in the city's Weinegg quarter.
It is separate from the Old Botanical Garden, which the University of Zurich also owns and which occupies the former zur Katz bastion in the city centre.
