Furniture fills the permanent galleries of the Liang Yi Museum (兩依藏博物館), a private museum of design, craftsmanship and heritage in Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island. The collection was begun in the 1980s and, three decades later, had grown to more than 400 pieces.
Selected works have been shown at other museums, including the National Museum of History in Taiwan and the Palace Museum in Beijing. Alongside the furniture galleries, the museum presents changing exhibitions and runs publications, education and public programmes, which makes it a natural stop for visitors with an interest in design and fine craftsmanship.
