Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Remedios Varo and Leonora Carrington are among the artists in the permanent collection of the Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM), a museum devoted to modern Mexican art in Chapultepec Park. The collection also includes work by David Alfaro Siqueiros, José Clemente Orozco, Rufino Tamayo, Olga Costa, Juan Soriano, Gelsen Gas, Vicente Rojo Almazán and the photographer Manuel Álvarez Bravo.
Alongside the permanent collection, the museum presents exhibitions of national and international contemporary artists. It is part of Mexico's Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura, the national institute of fine arts and literature.
The museum was founded in 1964, and its building was designed by the architects Pedro Ramírez Vázquez and Rafael Mijares Alcérreca.
