The former headquarters of the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition in Lima now houses a museum devoted to two institutions: the Tribunal itself and the Congress of Peru. The Museum of Congress and the Inquisition, signed in Spanish as the Museo de la Inquisición y del Congreso, tells the history of both.
The museum opened in 1968, and the site is listed as part of the cultural heritage of Peru. It stands on the fifth block of Jirón Junín, beside the Plaza Bolívar, in the Barrios Altos neighbourhood of Lima's historic centre.
