Archaeology, numismatics (the study and collecting of coins and currency) and art share one roof in this museum run by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru. Signs may show its Spanish name, Museo del Banco Central de Reserva del Perú, and it is also known as the Museo Central, the BCRP Museum or MUCEN. It stands at the corner of Lampa and Ucayali streets in Lima's historic centre.
Founded in 1979, it is classed as a national museum and is recognised as part of the cultural heritage of Peru.
