An early 20th-century building that once housed a fire brigade was home to the Ukrainian National Chornobyl Museum (Національний музей «Чорнобиль»), a history museum devoted to the 1986 Chornobyl disaster and its consequences. The State Fire Protection Guard donated the building in 1992, the year the museum was founded.
The museum was destroyed in a Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv's cultural institutions on 24 May 2026.
