Menus, photographs and other documents from Finnish restaurants, bars, diners, spas and hotels make up the collection of the Hotel and Restaurant Museum (Hotelli- ja ravintolamuseo). The museum specializes in the history of Finland's hotels, restaurants, cafés, tourism and culinary culture, and it presents food and drink as shared cultural heritage with real social significance.
The museum opened in 1971, originally for hotel and restaurant students. It has since broadened its scope and now serves a wide range of audiences, from people working in hospitality to anyone curious about how Finns have eaten, drunk and travelled. Since 1993 it has been housed in Kaapelitehdas in Helsinki.
