Three red brick buildings from 1909 to 1914, designated Important Cultural Properties, house the Ishikawa Prefectural History Museum (石川県立歴史博物館) in Kanazawa. They first served as the local arsenal, then became the Kanazawa College of Art after the Pacific War, and were converted into a museum in 1986.
Inside, the museum is devoted to the history and culture of Ishikawa Prefecture. It suits visitors interested in the region's past and in the reuse of historic industrial and institutional architecture.
