Founded in 2012 by the Peruvian fashion photographer Mario Testino, the Mario Testino Museum, known as MATE (pronounced MAH-teh) and signed as Museo Mario Testino, is built around a permanent exhibition of his own work. Alongside it, the museum presents exhibitions by contemporary artists.
MATE is a non-profit organization that sees itself as a platform for the creative industries, a window onto international contemporary art in Lima and a way of bringing Peruvian talent to the world. It suits visitors with an interest in fashion photography and contemporary art.
