Poznań's own story, from the 13th century to 1945, is told inside the city's historic town hall. The Museum of the History of Poznań (Muzeum Historii Miasta Poznania) occupies Poznań City Hall on the Old Market Square, so the building is part of the history on display.
The permanent exhibition fills the representative halls of the first floor, including the Renaissance Hall, known as the Great Hall. Visitors interested in how the city developed over seven centuries, and in seeing the interiors of its civic seat, will find both here.
Founded in 1954, the museum is a branch of the National Museum in Poznań and is entered in Poland's State Register of Museums.
