Devoted entirely to Nowa Huta, the youngest district of Kraków, this branch of the Historical Museum of Kraków presents temporary exhibitions on the district's history and monuments. It occupies the ground floor of a four-storey apartment building, in a former scouts' supply depot that has been adapted to include a modern audio-visual and exhibition room.
The museum was opened on 26 April 2005 by the Mayor of Kraków, Jacek Majchrowski. Alongside its exhibitions, it arranges lessons and lectures and organizes academic conferences about the district, which makes it best suited to visitors with a particular interest in Nowa Huta's past.
