The largest and oldest public art history research library in the Netherlands, the Rijksmuseum Research Library is part of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. It dates to 1885, and its collection follows the same profile as the museum's own holdings, making it a natural resource for anyone researching art history.
Its catalogue lists more than 400,000 books, around 3,400 periodicals and some 90,000 art sales catalogues. The collection keeps growing, adding on average 10,000 to 15,000 books, auction catalogues and periodicals each year.
