One of the largest museums of natural sciences in China, the Shanghai Natural History Museum (上海自然博物馆) is devoted to natural history. Since 2015 it has occupied a purpose-built home in Jing'an Sculpture Park.
The museum was founded in 1956. For much of its history it was housed in the Shanghai Cotton Exchange Building, a building not designed for it, before moving to its current site.
