With some 60,000 square metres of exhibition space, Mystetskyi Arsenal (Мистецький арсенал, literally "artistic arsenal") has one of the largest exhibition areas in Europe. Officially the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Art and Culture Museum Complex, it occupies a historic Neoclassical venue at 10–12 Lavrska Street in Kyiv and is regarded as Ukraine's flagship public cultural institution.
Founded in 2006, the complex combines a museum with a large art exhibition space. Its stated mission is to modernise Ukrainian society by raising awareness of social issues, building connections with the international community and introducing outstanding Ukrainian and international artists to the world. Alongside exhibitions, it stages festivals, educational projects and large-scale theatrical productions, and it hosts Ukraine's biggest annual book fair, which draws around 50,000 people.
The programme suits visitors interested in major art exhibitions, theatre and books. In 2018 the complex welcomed more than 170,000 visitors.
