Francisco Goya painted the ceiling and dome frescoes of this Neoclassical chapel in central Madrid, and the chapel is also his final burial place. The frescoes are what the building is best known for, making it a natural stop for anyone drawn to Goya's work.
Known in Spanish as the Real Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida, the chapel is a hermitage church designed by the architect Filippo Fontana. It is protected as a bien de interés cultural, Spain's designation for heritage of particular cultural importance, and is listed as a monument.
