Slovenia's national collection of railway history is kept at the Slovenian Railway Museum, known locally as Železniški muzej Slovenskih železnic. It stands in front of the former Ljubljana Šiška railway station, at Parmova ulica 35.
Founded in 1996 and owned by the railway holding company Holding Slovenske železnice, the museum acquires and preserves material on Slovenian railway history and shares knowledge about it, drawing on the national collection. It suits visitors with an interest in how the country's railways developed.
