Trondheim's first Neo-Gothic building, Rødbygget, designed by Christian Heinrich Grosch and built in 1855, houses The Norwegian Museum of Deaf Culture and History, signed locally as Norsk Døvemuseum. As its name indicates, the museum is devoted to the culture and history of deaf people in Norway.
Founded in 1992 and rebuilt in 2009, the museum is a division of Trøndelag Folkemuseum. A café occupies the first floor, and the upper floors hold offices.
